Great Skin Foods

Spinach
Spinach claims to make skin look an astounding 38 per cent younger in a matter of weeks and is packed with a powerful antioxidant named Lutein which boosts skin elasticity and hydration levels in the skin.

Goji Berries
Categorized as one of the most nutritionally dense foods on the planet, Goji Berries have almost 500 % more vitamin C per ounce than the humble orange which produces the collagen to keep skin young. The berries also contain linoeic acid, an essential fatty acid which plumps up the skin naturally.

Turkey
Turkey contains a skin loving protein named carnosine which slows down a process in the skin called cross linking which causes fibres in the skins collagen to become stiff and tight. Eating turkey two to three times a week will decrease the formation of crow’s feet and lines around the mouth area.

Beans
Beans contain a skin favorite ingredient named hylauronic acid which is responsible for keeping the skin plump and hydrated. This includes all types of beans including baked kidney and butter beans with two tablespoons a day thought to deliver great anti-aging results.

Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed oil whether taken by the spoonful or mixed as a salad dressing is a major source of healthy Omega-3. Skin cells are surrounded by a fatty layer which keeps them healthy and plump, with high Omega-3 levels contributing to this layer to disguise skin wrinkles and lines.

Beetroot
Purple food contains a pigment named anthocyanin that supports the production of collagen in the skin.

Red Peppers
Antioxidants in bright red, yellow and orange foods have been proven in recent research to increase UV protection in the skin. The effect is thought to be so strong that eating six portions of red peppers a day for 2 months can create a natural sun protection of up to factor 4 in the skin.
