A beauty day at home

Why not have an indulgent day with your friends, or on your own? Sometimes we need time just for ourselves. I take time out (2- 2 ½ hours) every 10-14 days for my own beauty treatment. View video

Here are some ideas.

1. Put on a bathrobe or comfy clothes. Wear soft slippers or thick socks.

2. Switch off your phone.

3. Turn your bathroom into a place where you can relax. Light some candles and aromatic oils, turn on music that you love.

4. Have a quick shower, to get freshened up.

5. Now take a bath. To soften your skin you can add some honey, cream or milk, or some oats to the water. Place oats in a mesh bag or sock – they release a nourishing, softening milk.

6. Cleanse your face and apply a mask.

7. Lie back for 30 minutes. Relax, breathe deeply, listen to the music.

8. Rinse off the mask with bath water.

9. Drain the bath and take a fresh shower to wash off any oil/cream.

Manicure/pedicure

On a towel, place the things you will need, e.g. soapy water, file, scissors, cuticle sticks, cuticle cream, paper tissues, nail undercoat, polish and top coat if desired.
Follow steps 1-4 above, then begin your manicure/pedicure.

Facial

(Alternative to applying a mask in the bath)
  • Prepare some chilled cucumber circles for your eyes.
  • Wear soft, comfortable clothes and tie back your hair.
  • Cleanse skin to get rid of oil and pollution.
  • Scrub with exfoliant to freshen up the skin.
  • Apply a mask.
  • Lie down and place cucumber circles over your eyes.
  • Relax for 20-30 minutes.
The result: a relaxed mind, clean & nourished skin.

I’ve also had a beauty party with my friends. Everybody loved it. They brought food & champagne, and my Swedish friends brought vodka. :-) Well, as we all know alcohol is dehydrating, but we used extra moisturizer. :-) Have fun!
