Feet Treat

At the end of a long day many of us complain that our feet are ‘killing us’. Yet, all too often, we expect them to endure the discomfort of high heels or ill-fitting shoes.

With the miles they take you they deserve just as much, if not more, attention that other parts of the body. Treat your feet right and prepare this quick and easy foot pampering recipe for your tired tootsies:

Mustard Foot bath

Great on a cold night to warm up

  • the mustard works to warm and relax tired feet
  • the spearmint refreshes them
  • the eucalyptus relieves aches and pains
  • the lemon myrtle is an antibactericidal and fungus-fighting oil

Ingredients

5 tablespoons mustard powder

2 tablespoons spearmint leaves

2 ½ cups (625ml) pure spring water

5 drops lemon myrtle (Backhousia citridora) essential oil

4 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Method

Mix the mustard, spearmint and water. Add the oils and fill your foot bath with the warm water at the temperature to suit you. Sit back and relax tired feet for up to 30 minutes or until water cools

These ingredients can all be sourced and purchased from good health food or organic stores.

Fizzy Feet

Fizzy Feet

Bubbly Feet treat with lovely lemon and a kick of fresh Vitamin C will keep you energies all day long . Vitamin C helps the body fight the effects of stress by replacing lost nutrients and increasing energy levels.

Heavenly when soaking rough tired feet, ten times better when massaged by someone else afterwards! So put your feet up and relax you deserve it.

Ingredients

  • 2 drops essential oil of your choice, or try lemon and black pepper. Lemon oil is famed for its cleansing and calming properties whilst black pepper has a natural heating and detoxifying effect
  • ½ cup (about 100g) sodium bicarbonate. This is a natural calming agent and will also make your foot bath preparation fizz.
  • 3 teaspoons citric acid (Berocca with Vitamin C will do). This is excellent for softening the water and gently cleansing the feet.

Directions

Dissolve all of the ingredients together in a bowl big enough to use as a foot bath and soak. Exfoliate afterwards using your favourite exfoliant or foot file.
