What’s a rejuvenating mask?
What ’s a rejuvenating mask?
There so many types of mask – here’s one explained.
A rejuvenating mask is designed to nourish, revitalize, renew, repair and restore the skin. It’s beneficial for dry or mature skin. Use the mask once or twice a week (try to exfoliate/ scrub before to get the most benefit).
What are the ingredients?
A good organic mask may contain some or all of these natural ingredients:
- White clay – promoting a smooth, clear texture
- Organic horsetail and nettle to help renew the skin’s surface
- Gotu kola herb, which like ginseng is said to be an elixir of life. Useful for stressed skin, to heal wounds. A good tonic for the skin.
- Stinging nettle leaf, which aids micro-circulation of the skin. Can be used to treat dark circles around the eyes.
- Lavender, which regulates sebum production. (For more about sebum, see my article ‘Six solutions for skin trouble.’) Lavender also promotes new skin cells and soothes red, inflamed skin.
